Answer: Maritime polar air forms over the North Pacific as cP air moves out from the interior of Asia. Maritime tropical air masses have an enormous influence on the southeastern United States, especially during the summer. These air masses form over the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico and migrate into North America.
