Answer to Question 1

A marketing information system is a system for managing marketing information that is gathered continually from internal and external sources; whereas marketing research is the process of systematically gathering, recording, and analyzing data concerning marketing issues. It could be said that marketing research would be stored as part of the marketing information system.
