Answer to Question 1

b)

Answer to Question 2

The SapirWhorf hypothesis contends that language affects how people think and what they pay
attention to. Language allows us to perceive certain aspects of the world by naming them and allows us to
ignore other parts of the world by not naming them. Similarly, there are concepts that people do not fully
perceive until a word is coined to describe them. Student examples may vary.
