Egg yolks contain substances that protect the cells and tissue in the eyes, preventing diseases that can lead to blindness. In addition, eggs contain a nutrient that keeps the arteries healthy. Therefore, they reduce the chance of developing heart disease. Studies show that they may help ward off breast cancer, too.
