All of the following statements are true about verbals or verbal phrases except
 
  a. A verbal is formed from a verb but functions as a noun, an adjective, or an adverb.
 b. Gerunds, participles, and infinitives are types of verbals, and they can appear alone or can begin a verbal phrase.
  c. A gerund is formed from a verb ending in -ing and functions as an adjective.
 d. An infinitive is formed from to and a present-tense verb, and it functions as a noun, an adjective, or an adverb.

Perfect tense
 
  a. indicates that action is completed and is formed by using a helping verb along with the past tense form of the main verb (have learned).
