ANS:If
the texture is phaneritic, the magma cooled slowly, and the rock is plutonic. If the texture is
aphanitic, the magma cooled rapidly, and the rock is volcanic.



Answer to Question 2

Most batholiths appear to have formed by upward intrusion of magma accompanied by fracturing and
stoping, and the shouldering-aside and deformation of intruded country rock.
