may do so in the future.

VEI is the most widely used indicator of the size of a volcanic eruption. The VEI ranges from 0
(gentle) to 8 (cataclysmic) based on several aspects of the eruption, including the volume of material
explosively ejected and the height of the eruption plume, but not the damage done
