Answer to Question 1

Wind rarely picks up grains larger than 0.5 millimeters. A windy region without abundant loose fine sediment on the surface would show no evidence of wind erosion.

Answer to Question 2

In general, the wind blows from regions of high air pressure to regions of low air pressure.
