Answer to Question 1

Relative age determines the sequence of events and allows you to order the events from oldest to youngest or vice versa. Absolute age establishes the date of an event and assigns a specific age to the event.

Answer to Question 2

The conglomerate was deposited after eruption of the 150 million-year-old basalt flow and before intrusion of the 100 million-year-old dike; therefore, it is between 150 and 100 million years old.

This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
