Regarding self-discipline, Freiberg thought:
 
  a. Self-discipline was not a major point in CMCD because the teacher accepted major responsibility.
 
  b. An entire school must develop a continuity of actions and expectations for staff, teachers, and students; and must be committed to giving students consistent messages about self-discipline.
 
  c. Self-discipline was a major goal, but it was accepted that only a small percentage of students could achieve such a lofty goal.
 
  d. Self-discipline was not mentioned in CMCD  it was part of Skinner's Behavior Modification Program.

In helping students develop positive relationships with their peers, it is crucial that teachers
 
  a. intervene swiftly and severely when any student expresses a concern about treatment by others.
  b. set conditions so students from all cultural groups feel valued and accepted in class and in school.
