The purge port supplies gas to the purge valve, which is located in the patient box. The gas is used to provide a moisture-free environment in the monitoring line of the hi-lo jet tube.

ANS: D
The bacterial filter should be placed downstream from the pinch valve to provide particle filtra-tion.
