Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
The resulting low pressure generated at the jet draws fluid from the reservoir up to the top of a siphon tube, where it is sheared off and is carried in the gas stream. Inspiratory flows decrease as the air-entrainment port is closed.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
The room nebulizers are not commonly recommended because they can be a source of bacterial contamination to the environment. See also Figure 6-11.
