During a job interview you are asked what made you interested in this particular position, what are your strengths, what areas do you feel you need to improve on, and how many sick days you took last year. What are the implications of these questions and how will you answer?

A person is exhibiting signs of physical failure. The family and the person may not understand the dying process. The person states, Let me live to see my grandson graduate. What stage does this statement represent? What does this statement represent to the family?

Answer to Question 1

You should anticipate questions you may be asked in interviews and prepare how you will respond to them. Questions about your strengths, your weaknesses, and what made you choose to apply for a position at a particular company are pretty standard. You do not need to answer the question asking how many sick days you took last year. Since this question concerns your medical health it is protected by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Answer to Question 2

This statement represents bargaining. The person wants to see one more significant event. The family feels that their loved one has hope but also that he or she is considering that the end is near.
