Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
Testing for malingering is performed to determine whether the client is fabricating symptoms to avoid arrest or stay in the hospital. Tests, such as the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory and the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule, not the Structured Interview of Reported Symptoms, are used to determine the client's dependence on others. The Kohlman Evaluation of Living Skills is used to determine if the client needs assistance with daily activities. Tests, such as the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) and the Mini Mental Status Examination (MMSE), not the Structured Interview of Reported Symptoms, are used to determine whether the client is oriented to time and place.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
One test to evaluate if a client needs assistance with ADLs is the KELS, the Kohlman Evaluation of Living Skills. Tests, such as the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI), the Situational Test of Dependency, and the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule, are used to determine the client's dependence on others (including a diagnosis of dependent personality disorder). Personality inventories include the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI). Other projective and memory tests include the Rorschach inkblot, Draw-a-Person, sentence-completion, Bender-Gestalt, word-association, and thematic apperception tests (TAT).
