Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
Painful peripheral neuropathy can be treated with gabapentin (Neurotin), amitriptyline (Elavil), carbamazepine (Tegretol), or phenytoin (Dilantin). No cure for autonomic neuropathy exists, and only symptoms are treated. Laser therapy can be used to curtail pathologic eye changes caused by retinopathy, and angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are used to treat high blood pressure and kidney disease in clients with diabetes.
