Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
Use of an incentive spirometer helps to prevent atelectasis after lung surgery. Atelectasis is a condition of a potentially collapsed lung caused by obstruction by mucus or a foreign object. The client need not use the straw to blow slowly; it is important for the client to inhale deeply rather than exhale by blowing. Peak flow meter is used to determine lung function by showing how fast a person can exhale after deep inhalation. Wound-suction devices help to remove drainage from wounds by suctioning them. Use of straw, peak flow meters, or wound-suction devices does not help to prevent atelectasis.
