Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
The tine test is often used in mass screening. A sterile stainless steel disk with four tines (sharp prongs) is impregnated with PPD and the tines are pressed into the person's skin. The disks are packaged individually and are disposable; thus, they offer a practical advantage when testing a large group of people. The purified protein derivative (PPD) tuberculin test, also known as the Mantoux tuberculin skin test, indicates whether a person has ever been exposed to the tubercle bacillus; however, this test is not as convenient for larger groups as is the tine test. If a person has a positive reaction to the testing, a CXR and a sputum culture are done to determine if the lungs are affected.

Answer to Question 2

D
Feedback:
A physician will look for abnormalities to establish a medical diagnosis, monitor a disease's progression, or evaluate changes in the client's condition. The physician's examination may be extensive and thorough, or it may focus on a particular body area. A physical therapist will examine the client's functional abilities and ability to move, to develop a therapy plan, and monitor the client's progress. Occupational therapists often determine the client's level of functioning in self-care.
