Answer to Question 2

C
Feedback:
The nurse should monitor for the erosion of tooth enamel, known as nursing bottle mouth, as one of the major consequences of this practice. Erosion of tooth enamel, deep cavities, and tooth loss result from the prolonged contact of milk and juice sugars with emerging teeth. Lost primary teeth do not maintain space for permanent teeth, which may erupt decayed. Nursing bottle mouth may affect appearance, chewing, eating habits, and speech development. Oral thrush, tongue infection, and ulcers in the mouth are not known to occur as a result of nursing bottle mouth.
