Answer to Question 1

A
Feedback:
The first normal heart sound (S1) is called the lub; it is produced by closure of the AV valves when the ventricles contract. The second heart sound (S2) is called the dub or dup; it is produced by the closure of the aortic and pulmonary semilunar valves when the ventricles relax. Gallop sounds occur when ventricular filling creates audible vibrations during a normally silent diastolic phase. Murmurs are extra heart sounds resulting from turbulent blood flow through the heart's chambers and valves.

Answer to Question 2

D
Feedback:
People must meet needs such as survival and security before they can address social needs. Thus, social needs, such as the need for love, affection, and belonging, should be recognized as secondary needs. Elimination of the body's waste products, activity and exercise, and sexual gratification are essential to sustain life and are, therefore, basic physiologic needs.

There are major differences in the metabolism of morphine and the illegal drug heroin. Morphine mostly produces its CNS effects through m-receptors, and at k- and d-receptors. Heroin has a slight affinity for opiate receptors. Most of its actions are due to metabolism to active metabolites (6-acetylmorphine, morphine, and morphine-6-glucuronide).
