Answer to Question 1

D
Feedback:
The inner ear is responsible for transmitting sound waves and information about body position to the brain. The external ear is responsible for protecting the internal structures of the ear from foreign substances and for catching and carrying sound waves to the middle ear. The middle ear is responsible for the transmission of sound.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
Any defective or malfunctioning apparatus must be immediately brought to the notice of the appropriate hospital staff by the nurse. A nurse should, under no situation, try to replace or repair the sphygmomanometer personally because the nurse may not have the required expertise to do so. If the nurse ignores the defect and proceeds with taking the readings, then it may seriously affect the course of the treatment given to the client. This would amount to negligence on the part of the nurse.
