Answer to Question 1

C
Feedback:
The public spends an estimated 25 billion per year on sure cures for every imaginable ailment. The result is that ill people run the risk of delaying vital treatment until it is too late.

Answer to Question 2

C
Feedback:
Vasopressin or antidiuretic hormone (ADH) stimulates contraction of blood vessels to raise blood pressure, affects the uterus, and influences reabsorption of water by the kidney tubules. Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), not vasopressin, stimulates the growth and secretion of ovarian follicles in women and the production of sperm in men. Oxytocin, not vasopressin, stimulates the uterus to contract during delivery and helps to keep it contracted after delivery (to prevent hemorrhage). The growth hormone (GH), not vasopressin, stimulates growth in all body tissues.

There can actually be a 25-hour time difference between certain locations in the world. The International Date Line passes between the islands of Samoa and American Samoa. It is not a straight line, but "zig-zags" around various island chains. Therefore, Samoa and nearby islands have one date, while American Samoa and nearby islands are one day behind. Daylight saving time is used in some islands, but not in others—further shifting the hours out of sync with natural time.
