Answer to Question 1

Ans: A, C
Feedback:
The candidate for the NCLEX-PN needs to bring an official picture identification card containing legal name and picture. The Social Security card does not contain a picture id. The official transcripts are not needed to write for the exam because the nursing program submitted verification of eligible candidates as part of the application process. The note from the physician regarding the learning disability asking for special testing accommodations is needed to be provided during the application to test process. The Authorization to Test card is needed, but the booklet included with the card is not.

Answer to Question 2

Ans: A
Feedback:
Once the candidate calls for the test through application, there are 30 days of time to take the test. Repeat applicants have a 45-day window to schedule the test. Trying to study during the trip may be disastrous and take away from the family trip. It is best to study for the NCLEX-PN ongoing throughout nursing school and to continue the review process by practicing questions daily until writing the exam. Daily practice continues the reinforcement of past learning through application of content to clinical situations presented through questions. Applying after the vacation also provides some time to perform a concentrated review, in addition to the ongoing review throughout school.
