remnant beam

Rationale: Leakage radiation from the tube housing and scatter radiation contribute to technologist exposure. Primary beam exits the tube housing and enters the patient. Remnant beam is the radiation beam that exits the patient and interacts with the image receptor.

AP oblique with LPO

Rationale: The Grashey method rotates the body approximately 45 degrees and towards the affected side of interest. With proper rotation the glenoid fossa will be seen in profile and the glenohumeral joint will appear open.
