IPL

Rationale: The IPL is aligned perpendicular to the image receptor. This line controls tilt.

Answer to Question 2

perpendicular

Rationale: The lateral sacrum and coccyx will utilize a perpendicular beam directed to the level of the ASIS and posterior to MCP.
