Answer to Question 1

decreases recorded detail

Rationale: There are two focal spot sizes to choose from. Small focal spots are most ideal and result in sharper recorded detail, but with increased mAs values, increase heat production will result, therefore a larger focal spot should be selected.

Answer to Question 2

grid lines

Rationale: Stationary grids are lower ratio grids, which affect their efficiency, but grid lines are the biggest drawback. The beam must be adequately aligned to the grid to eliminate the appearance of grid lines on the image.
