Answer to Question 1

IPL

Rationale: The interpupillary line or IPL is aligned perpendicular to the IR for the lateral skull. This line will control tilt.

Answer to Question 2

lateromedial

Rationale: The lateral position requires the part to be rotated either lateral or medial; whichever way will place the affected digit parallel and closest to the image receptor. Fingers and toes reference the surfaces according to anatomical position. The second digit will rotate the entire foot medially and the projection through the part is lateromedial.
