The spiritual tradition includes the sacredness of women, the sacred relationship with the Buffalo Nation, self-sacrifice for the good of others, the importance and sacredness of relationship with all of creation. The Seven Laws include generosity; compassion;. humility; respect of all creation; the development of a great mind through observation, silence, and patience; bravery in the face of adversity to protect the nation; and wisdom. Lakota believe there is one God or Creator (The Great Spirit, Mystery, or Sacred One) but traditionally do not believe in a Devil, fallen angels or true evil. All creation possesses a Spirit.
