Answer to Question 1

Isaiah and the disciples all seem to fall back from the vision could be a very useful observation. Similarities to the other two ideals might be more difficult to guess, but perhaps all the more interesting. There does seem to be expression of mystery and of some transcendent greatness. Let students speculate.

Answer to Question 2

The optimistic student might claim that any war-like preaching must be a mistaken form of religion. Some more religiously negative students might go to the other extreme and suggest that religions are dangerous because they can and historically have defended war. The professor might find examples in scripture (e.g., Koran 2:191-193; Bhagavad Gita 2:31ff). Specific examples will have to be moderated with concern for historical accuracy and for recognition that what a religion teaches and what some members do might be quite different.
