Bifurcated drains and fluffy pressure dressings are used following mastectomy primarily to:
 a. make the change in chest contour less obvious
  b. prevent formation of hematoma and seroma
  c. provide comfort for the patient when she moves
  d. keep adhesions from forming between the skin and muscle
