Uvulopalatopharyngo plasty corrects obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) by increasing the air space in the oropharynx. Upper airway obstruction may be caused by nasal obstruction, deviated nasal septum, hypertrophied tonsils and adenoids or overbite.
