A hemangioblastoma is a vascular tumor in neural tissue. It is more common in 30- to 40-year-old males 2:1. These tumors can be associated with von Hippel-Lindau disease and are more common in the cervical or thoracic areas.

The patient with a spinal cord injury loses thermoregulatory ability after injury, and a lack of vascular adaptation affects fluid balance. Because of this, pulmonary edema, left ventricular failure, and pulmonary embolism can occur.
