Answer to Question 1

ANS: A
Holding the suture scissors at a slight angle stabilized by the index finger, slide down the suture to the area just above the knot. The suture should be cut with the tips of the scissors visible.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
The most common length of suture is 18-30 inches long. Absorbable suture material without a swaged material is 54 inches long (60-inch material is the length for nonabsorbable suture material.) It can be cut into shorter lengths and used per the surgeon's request.
