A French eye needle has a slit from the inside of the eye to the end of the needle through which the suture strand is drawn. French eye needles are generally used with pliable braided materials.

ANS: C
Bridges are plastic devices placed on the skin to span the incision. Bumpers are used on the skin surface to prevent irritation. Bolsters distribute tension of retention sutures.
