 The cage should be big enough for the bird or birds.
 The cage should be easy to clean.
 The cage should be large enough to provide room for feeders, waterers, nest boxes, and other items.
 The cage should be affordable.
 The cage should be made of stainless steel or anodized aluminum or be chrome-plated.
 Galvanized wire contains zinc, and should be avoided.

The cage should be placed in an area of the room that is free from drafts, where constant temperature is
maintained, not in direct sunlight, and away from poisonous plants or other hazards the bird can reach.
