Answer to Question 1

D
Studies have shown that in addition to their antidepressant effects, antidepressant medications are among the most effective anti-anxiety agents. Paxil has been found to be useful in treating generalized anxiety disorders and social phobias. In addition, some of the new SSRIs have been found to be useful in treating generalized anxiety disorder, social phobias, and panic disorder.

Answer to Question 2

C
In general, if clients can tolerate medication side effects, a response occurs in 60 to 70 of both inpatients and outpatients. Most studies show a placebo improvement in depression of about 18 to 30.
