Answer to Question 1

A
Because the nausea and vomiting are anxiety-induced, lorazepam (a benzodiazepine) may be used to reduce both the anxiety and the nausea and vomiting. The other medications listed are useful in treatment of nausea and vomiting.

Answer to Question 2

B
Americans have tended to view the poor as either worthy or unworthy of public support. Children and their mothers have generally been regarded as worthy, whereas the fathers of working age are considered unworthy. It is generally felt that they have the ability to seek and secure employment to support their families.
