Answer to Question 2

D
The most helpful response by the nurse is to acknowledge that the parents need time for themselves. Caring for a person with a chronic health condition provides added stress for the caregiver. Respite care is a possible solution. Respite care can come in many forms such as temporary placement for the son while the parents take a vacation. Another option would be to hire another caregiver to be with the son while the family takes a vacation.
