Several studies have been done on the effectiveness of psychotherapy in persons from varied cultural and ethnic backgrounds. However, most investigations further indicate that an ethnic match between client and therapist does not affect outcomes. Because effectiveness of psychotherapy is related to multiple variables, such studies are difficult to conduct and findings may be inconclusive.
