A physician orders 100 mg of chlorpromazine (Thorazine) twice daily and 2 mg of benztropine (Cogentin) twice daily as needed for a client with paranoid schizophrenia.
 
  The nurse understands that the purpose for chlorpromazine (Thorazine) is to:

The posttreatment recovery room for ECT should contain oxygen and suctioning equipment, an emergency cart, a pulse oximeter, and vital-sign monitoring equipment. A tympanic thermometer, spirometer, and padded restraints are not necessary equipment related to ECT treatment.
