The genetic basis of early onset Alzheimer's is linked to different genes and chromosomes than those associated with late onset Alzheimer's. There is much greater evidence to the genetic link to early onset Alzheimer's than late onset Alzheimer's. Furthermore, it is also more likely to follow a single gene inheritance pattern.
