Answer to Question 1

2
Rationale: Psychoanalysis is a method for studying the unconscious through clarifying the meaning of events, feelings, and behavior and thereby gaining insight about them. Medicalpsychobiolog ical theory views the cause of mental illness as organic, located in the central nervous system, following a predictable course, and treated based on accurate diagnosis. Cognitive behavioral theory focuses on the present rather than the past. Socialinterpersonal theories focus on crucial social processes and cultural variation involving the development, identification, and resolution of disturbed human responses.

Answer to Question 2

3
Rationale: Alternate-nostril breathing stems from the practice of yoga and helps reduce tension and sinus headaches. Passive progressive relaxation is a technique to relax the muscles without tightening them first and is useful for muscle spasms, lower back pain, tension headaches, insomnia, and anxiety. Guided imagery takes too much focus to use when suffering from a sinus headache and, if attempting to practice at that time, may in fact worsen the sinus headache. Tai chi is a body-based CAM practice that requires specific education and practice. When learned and practice is maintained, it has shown to improve one's sense of balance and is, therefore, useful as a health promotion and health maintenance tool rather than an adjunctive treatment for sinus headaches.
