Answer to Question 1

ANS: 4
Unconditional positive regard shows respect for the client as a person, and it demonstrates the nurse's professional concern about him. Being treated with respect is fundamental to developing self-esteem. Option 1 may sound patronizing; option 2 is paternalistic; and option 3 breaches cli-ent confidentiality.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: 4
This question asks directly for a description of coping skills. The other questions may be asked to assess other topics, but question 4 is the one that would best elicit information about coping methods.
