A week ago an individual witnessed the explosion of a fuel tanker, after which a ball of fire came directly at her.
 
  She literally ran for her life. She now reports feeling numb and not being able to respond spon-taneously to others. She feels estranged and detached from others. Whenever anyone mentions the experience, she responds, I need to avoid thinking about it.
