Answer to Question 1

In the wild, catfish lay their eggs in a nesting place such as a submerged hollow log or small cavern in the bank. Commercial producers commonly supply fish with a box or other type of artificial nest for spawning.

Answer to Question 2

The proponents of tilapia argue that because this fish cannot thrive in water less than 65F, they would die out in the winter in most parts of the country where the water temperature commonly drops to less than 50F.
