Answer to Question 2

Prior to the development of animal immunization, whenever a disease struck a certain area, all of the animals in the surrounding countryside fell ill, which had a devastating effect on population and production. Farmers lost their animals, which meant they lost a primary source of food and income. Now that we have the ability to immunize animals against disease, we can prevent and lessen the impact of many animal illnesses. This means fewer losses for farmers and a better product for consumers.
