Answer to Question 1

Shafts should be maintained with periodic greasing or oiling. Chains need to be oiled regularly and
cleaned in solvent and reoiled periodically. Belts need to be kept clean and dry, and the tension
adjusted periodically.



Answer to Question 2

The advantage of a sprocket is the strength and positive, nonslip power transfer.
