Answer to Question 1

Educational programs have helped in the prevention of forest wildfires. Also important are regulations that control
outdoor burning of trash and debris. Programs to estimate the fire danger help alert and warn people to be
particularly careful with fire when the danger is high.

Answer to Question 2

Indirect attack techniques in forest-fire control include all the measures taken to remove fuel from the fire's path.
Included are the use of backfires, fire lanes, fire breaks, natural obstacles such as lakes, and human-made obstacles
such as roads.
