Answer to Question 1

In a water treatment plant, influent is the water that comes into the plant to be treated. Effluent is the treated
water that leaves the plant for consumption. That can be confusing because the same terms are used in sewage
collection and treatment systems

To be sure, have the well water tested by local authorities
