What is wrong with the following statement? If a little fertilizer (or pesticide) does a little good in my lawn, then a lot
  of fertilizer (or pesticide) will do a lot of good.

Answer to Question 1

It is simply not true. Too much fertilizer or pesticide can be more harmful than too little. Excessive chemicals can
directly damage desirable plants, insects, birds, and other animals. It can also wash into the water supply and cause
even more damage downstream and it can contaminate ground water
