Answer to Question 1

Hydroelectric power is electricity generated by water-driven turbines. In 2011, hydroelectric power supplied about
16 percent of the world's electricity.

Answer to Question 2

We are really borrowing almost all of the water we use. It is returned to the water cycle either immediately or
relatively quickly. That is important because the water is available for re-use over and over.
